Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2012-2025, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020
Still hitting on all cylinders at 10 years of age, the 2009 Saint Joseph l'Olivaie starts with hints of mocha, leather and baking spices, but it balances those elements with lively, fresh notes of black cherries. Full-bodied and velvety, with a long, licorice-tinged finish, it should continue to drink well over at least the next 4-5 years.

Opaque ruby. Expressive, fragrant nose of dark cherry, blackberry, violet, licorice and cracked pepper. Then plush, broad and alluringly sweet, with mineral-accented flavors of dark berries and candied flowers. A rich but very suave style, expanding on the back half and finishing with fine-grained tannins and excellent persistence.
