A smooth and polished white that has good richness, the 2011 Chardonnay has knockout purity and depth on the nose, with clean white peach, citrus, crushed stone minerality and hints of brioche all flowing to a medium-bodied, pure and supple palate. Demetria's 2011 Chardonnay is rich, creamy and inviting. One of the more open wines of the year, the 2011 is laced with hints of almond, dried pears and spices. My preference is to enjoy the 2011 Chardonnay over the next year or two, while the fruit remains supple. Stirring of the lees gives the 2011 a dimension of texture that is quite appealing. Demetria aged the Chardonnay in neutral oak barrels for 12 months.
