2006 Samsara Pinot Noir Ampelos Vineyard

Deep red. Spicy raspberry, cherry and darker berries on the nose, plus a lashing of potpourri. Energetic red fruit flavors are extremely spicy (Melville ferments all his pinots with 40% of the stems), with bracing minerality on the back end. Clean, focused and penetrating, showing excellent finishing sweetness and length. These are young vines, planted in 1999 and 2000.
