Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Jul 2024

The 2021 Pinot Noir Own-Rooted comes from the Nysa, Bishop and Hyland vineyards, and it's bursting with perfume! Raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb are accented by tones of Cara Cara orange, mixed tea leaves, forest floor and amaro; it's notably detailed and pure and gains in intensity and expression as it airs in the glass. The medium-bodied palate features surprisingly concentrated layers of red fruit, flowers and spice. It's structured by velvety tannins and a bright spine of acidity, and it has a layered, detailed finish. How pretty!

Deep red currants and plump raspberries form a beautifully focused core in this substantial but graceful wine made from old vineyard plots that are not grafted to other rootstock. Medium-bodied, moderately tannic and nervy, with fresh acidity. Pure and balanced. Drinkable soon but best from 2027.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Own-Rooted is wonderfully perfumed with hints of shaved cedar and clove complementing crushed blackberries. Seamlessly silky upon entry, the 2021 quickly gains tension and traction. Tart red fruits saturate, underscored by saline minerals. Incredibly fresh and perfumed yet potent, the 2021 finished with staining length and a cranberry crunch.

The medium ruby 2021 Pinot Noir Own-Rooted is gorgeous, with a floral, expressive perfume of herbes de Provence, cardamom, wild raspberry, and mossy earth. Medium-bodied, with fine, graceful tannins, its floral perfume floats across the palate with a highly refined feel and a mouthwatering mineral accent on the finish. It is hard to resist now but certainly has the structure to gain intensity over the coming 10-15 years. This powerhouse team of Jean-Nicolas Méo of Méo Camuzet in Burgundy and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg are producing some incredible and exciting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley. The following wines were tasted at their new tasting room facility in the Dundee Hills.
