The 2019 Estate Cuvée is fabulous. Rich and exuberant to the core, the 2019 Estate Cuvée captures the depth and density of the site, but without the tannic heft that can at times be penalizing, Winemaker Chris Pittenger has done an admirable job in taming the Limerick Lane tannins in this Zinfandel/Syrah/Petite Sirah blend. The 100% stems on the Syrah portion of the blend works so well here. The 2019 is a fabulous, impeccable wine in every way.

There are just eight barrels of the 2019 Estate Cuvee. Based on 56% Zinfandel, 37% Syrah, and 7% Petite Sirah, all from the estate’s Limerick Lane Vineyard, it was 90% destemmed and spent 18 months in 15% new French oak. This is another seamless, beautiful wine from this team, with an almost Burgundian-like sense of elegance and texture as well as medium-bodied richness, wonderful blueberry and blackberry fruit, notes of cedarwood, peppery herbs, and flowers, rocking mid-palate depth, and a great finish. Playing in the fresher, livelier, more elegant end of the spectrum, it should nevertheless have a solid 10-15 years of prime drinking.
