Very dark indeed. So full and opulent! Thick and sweet and round and in-your-face. Full of fun. French-oaked Malbec with American-oaked Tempranillo – a most attractive and flattering blend. (JR)

Zuccardi’s purple-colored 2006 Zeta is composed of 64% Malbec and 36% Tempranillo. The Malbec was aged in new French oak for 12 months, the Tempranillo in new American oak for 14 months. It sports a classy perfume of pain grille, mineral, cinnamon, violets, incense and black cherry. Medium- to full-bodied, the wine has plenty of brawny power, dense, extracted fruit, layers of flavor, and enough structure to evolve for 5-7 years. Thick, sweet, rich, a little heavy but with that moustache breathing authenticity into it. Savoury finish. Well done! The blend works really well – not too sweet. Velvety texture. (JR)
(a 66/34 blend of malbec and tempranillo) Good medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of dark berry preserves, chocolate and mocha. Lush, broad and rich, with slightly chunky, roasted flavors of cassis and truffle. Finishes with big chewy tannins. A rather forward wine in the style of a California cabernet.
