Full ruby. Powerful dark berry and cola scents are enlivened by white pepper and rose. Juicy, concentrated black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors become spicier with air and pick up a hint of vanilla. This rich but energetic pinot finishes smooth, sweet and very long, with slow-building tannins and a touch of bitter chocolate.

A juicy, immediate wine, the 2011 Pinot Noir Guidotti Vineyard is an excellent choice for drinking while some of the most structured wines in this range come together fully in bottle. The style is racy and fruit-forward, within the context of the cool year. The classic Santa Lucia Highlands fruit is there, but in miniature.
