Good full red. Perfumed aromas of red berries, minerals and flowers. Dense and supple, with a chocolatey sweetness, but rather youthfully unforthcoming today. Best on the brooding, dry finish, which features outstanding persistence. This needs a good eight to ten years of cellaring.

(Laurent told me he buys from two cousins who own the same 1926 planting and vinify in the same manner) Ruby-red. Cool, brooding, slightly medicinal nose hints at menthol and dark chocolate. Then extremely primary and backward on the palate, with powerful black fruit, mineral and floral flavors offering terrific precision and verve. Youthful and quite forceful on the very long, pure finish.
