The medium to full-bodied, elegant 2001 Zinfandel Sonoma Station (84% Zinfandel and the remainder Petite Sirah and Carignan) exhibits notes of cherries, raspberries, and balsam wood in its stylish, gracious personality. Juicy, penetrating and complex, with notes of briary berries, cherry pit, bitter chocolate, coffee, pepper and spices. Supple but firm-edged. Firmly tannic finish features excellent peppery persistence.
