2020 Bruno Lorenzon Mercurey Pièce 13 1er Cru

The 2020 Mercurey 1er Cru Pièce 13 is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with scents of wild berries, plums, orange rind, peonies, licorice and exotic spices. Full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's deep and multidimensional, with huge concentration, beautifully refined tannins and vibrant acids, concluding with a long, sapid finish. This is a benchmark vintage for Lorenzon, but like his other 2020 reds, it's going to demand more patience than the 2019 or 2018, even if it's likely to hit even higher heights at maturity.
