Such refinement – captures all of Chardonnay's ripeness with none of the flab. Toffee oak on the palate, bright acid, plenty of fruit concentration but the overall effect is no more than medium bodied. Great stuff. (RH)

Single vineyard at Te Awanga near Cape Kidnappers. Attractive stoniness on the nose and nothing out of place on the palate. Really very sophisticated. Good lanolin nose and creamy but definitely savoury palate. Wonderful restraint without any austerity. Ripe fruit but no sweetness. Long and already drinking very well. (JR)
The 2012 Kidnappers Vineyard Chardonnay offers a good intensity of grapefruit, lemon curd and almond notes with hints of musk and honeysuckle. The mouth is a little lean and musty with a relatively short finish.
