Note di degustazione
Deep ruby. Aromas of black currant, cherry pit, violet and peppery spices carry a smoky mineral topnote. Supple, sweet dark fruit flavors are complicated by notes of olive and peppery spices, and a cracked pepper quality emerges on the back half. Finishes with solid, fruity thrust, dusty tannins and repeating mineral and cherry notes.

Vivid ruby. Ripe red and blue fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of olive and cracked pepper. Juicy and open-knit, offering pliant black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that deepen slowly on the back half. Dusty tannins build on the finish, which hangs on with good, smoky persistence.
There are roughly 400 cases of the early-bottled 2015 Saint Joseph Clos des Martinets. It is a smoking effort that offers ample black and blue fruits, peppery herbs, bay leaf and a kiss of mint in a perfumed, medium to full-bodied, pure, nicely concentrated style. Coming all from granite terroirs and aged 12 months in 600-liter barrels, it will drink nicely for 5-7 years.
Cask sample. Tasted blind. Quite evolved nose. Round and energetic with some – arguably a little too much – rubbery quality. Dry finish. (JR)
