Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed nose offers aromas of red and dark berry preserves, flowers and incense, along with notes of woodsmoke and star anise. Sappy and penetrating, with excellent clarity to its sweet black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors. Rich yet impressively vibrant, finishing with outstanding thrust and persistent florality.

This mid-weight, understated Pinot is sexy and supple from start to finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. The Chardonnays and Pinots are the highlights among these new releases from Bonaccorsi Wine Company. I was less enamored with the 2007 Syrahs I tasted.
