The 2013 Pinot Noir Meredith Mitchell was picked a little earlier than usual on 25 September according to proprietor Donna Morris, then matured for 12 months in French oak, 22% new. It has a perfumed and floral bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and mineral scents that are well defined, if not the most powerful you will encounter. The palate is leafy on the entry with edgy acidity, a little foursquare in the mouth, earthy with a touch of austerity towards the finish. The aromatics offer more than the palate at the moment - hopefully it will develop more flesh in bottle, but I would still be inclined to drink this in the first 5-7 years.

Vivid red. Musky red berries and cherry on the fragrant, spice-accented nose. Tangy redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors loosen up a bit in the mid-palate and pick up a hint of smokiness. Closes spicy and firm, with building tannins and a touch of white pepper.
