Note di degustazione
The 2022 Pinot Noir Mysterious Arcus Vineyard comes from Pommard clone vines planted in 1990 and 1993, plus Wadenswil clone vines originally planted in 1993 and grafted over to Dijon in 2015. Various percentages of whole clusters were used during fermentation, and the wine was matured in 15% new French oak. It opens with some rubbery reduction that gives way with time to strawberry, raspberry, licorice and forest floor aromas. The medium-bodied palate offers open, powerful, fragrant flavors. It has a silky texture, fireworks of fresh acidity and a long, floral finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar. 642 cases produced.

This seems to be the last vintage for the 2022 Pinot Noir Mysterious Arcus Vineyard, which is profound and gains intensity on the nose, with notes of toasted cedar, ripe cherries, pie spices, and crushed pine needles. Pure and fresh, it feels more noble on the nose, but there is great electric energy on the palate, with ripe fruit and a long, mouthwatering, salty finish. I love the crunchy, angular feel of this wine, and it has a lot going on. Drink 2026-2046.
Intense in the glass, the 2022 Pinot Noir Mysterious Arcus Vineyard grumbles up with an earthy blend of flowery underbrush and crushed ashen stones before giving way to mint-laced black cherries. Juicy acidity adds lovely lift and energy as this flows across the palate, soft-textured and nearly fleshy in feel, with depths of tart red berry fruit to balance. The 2022 finishes with noticeable depth and concentration as well as soft-contoured tannins, leaving hints of sage and spice to resonate. The balance here is otherworldly. Fantastic.
