The 2022 Atantikas Pinotage is fun and funky on the nose, boasting a delightful carbonic lift. Aromas of potpourri and red flowers blend with notes of leather and turned earth, while cherries and crushed raspberries emerge vibrantly. Light to medium-bodied at 12.5% alcohol, the palate is succulent and fresh, featuring energetic acidity and a delightful prickle from recessed gas, so splash-decanting is recommended to allow the wine to express its best qualities. It has a delightful crunchy red fruit-laden finish and a lingering bit of funk. This wine is crafted from Pinotage grapes that were 30% destemmed, 30% with stems intact and 40% direct-pressed. This is a total production of 4,590 bottles.
