The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravel Series The Vow takes all the signatures of the 11B block and dials up the intensity. Ample and richly textured, the 2019 possesses tremendous density and pure power. Readers will have to be patient with the 2019, as it packs a huge punch. Dark fruit, leather, spice and a kick of new oak build into the plush, dense finish.

More cassis and black cherry fruits as well as toasted spice and chocolate notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Vow, a full-bodied Rutherford Cabernet with velvety tannins, good mid-palate concentration, and a plush, up-front style ideal for enjoying over the coming 15 years or so.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Vow displays a deep purple-black color and fragrant notions of violets, Black Forest cake, boysenberries and warm cassis, with hints of black truffles, tilled soil and tar. The full-bodied palate has fantastic energy as well as concentration, delivering finely grained tannins and a refreshing backbone to support the densely packed black fruit layers, finishing long and earthy. Very impressive! (Tasted as a barrel sample.)
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravel Series The Vow is a bit awkward and not fully put together. Today, it tastes like a wine with late malolactic fermentation. There is something in this wine that is stressed, not put together. Even so, the depth and resonance typical of this site just across the road from Georges III is evident. It will be interesting to see how things evolve.
