Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2025, David Schildknecht, Vinous, Dec 2018

Honeydew melon and zesty lime are joined on the nose by hints of papaya and roasted red pepper. The palate impression is full by the standards of this collection and includes a sense of underlying stoniness that persists on the finish for a slightly austere overall feel. This is serious wine possessed of quite gripping, smoke- and pepper-tinged persistence, but marginally disappointing in the context of vineyard and estate potential, as well as in comparison with its impressive Mühlpoint and Loibenberg counterparts. Perhaps time in bottle will bring a different perspective.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2022-2036, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Aug 2017

The 2016 Ried Steinertal Grüner Veltliner Smaragd has a coolish and flinty flavored nose of perfectly ripe and concentrated white and yellow-fleshed fruits. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, this Veltliner balances its richness and fruit intensity with finesse, freshness, fine minerals and tannins. The finish is well structured, long, intense and powerful. I'd keep the 2016 for another three or four years before I'd serve it. Tasted in July 2017, one week after the bottling.
