The 2017 Bourgogne Pressonnier is showing beautifully in bottle, bursting with notes of cherries, cassis, smoked meats, rich soil tones and black truffles. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, this is the deepest and most concentrated of Roty's regional bottlings, with the most chalky structure, underpinned by racy acids.

Bottled. Round and sweet but without much freshness or distinction. A bit rustic. Obviously needs time and maybe it will all come right but the tannins are a bit much at the moment. (JR)
This too is mildly toasty though not so much as to overshadow the pretty aromas of essence of red currant, cherry and underbrush scents. The sleek and solidly intense medium weight flavors possess fine depth and persistence on the more structured and youthfully austere finale. This slightly rustic effort is a quality Bourgogne and worth checking out.
The 2017 Bourgogne Pressonier has an earthy bouquet, maybe just a little animally for my liking; the leathery notes occlude the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, and much fresher and more detailed than the aromatics. A hint of oyster shell appears on the finish. (NM)
