Note di degustazione
The 2006 Barolo Preda opens with a burst of red berries, spices and flowers. The Preda shows a touch more depth and roundness of the 4 Vigne, with many of the same attributes that make it such a pleasurable wine today. The wine gains volume and depth in the air, with an attractive spiciness and breadth provided by the oak. This soft, supple Barolo is another strong effort from Cascina Adelaide.

Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. These new releases from Cascina Adelaide show quite a bit of potential. The estate seems to be working with high-quality fruit, even if today the wines lack that visceral thrill that might elevate them to another level. Hopefully that will come with time. Barolo. Deep ruby with small orange rim. Oak and hints of nuts and fruitcake. Sweet oaked palate too. Forced. (WS)
