A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot that spent 27 months in barrel (63% new), the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cut Bank Estate gives up a terrific bouquet of ripe blackberries, plums, violets, spring flowers and chocolatey oak. Deep, rich, full-bodied and concentrated, with sweet tannin, it's a hedonistic, layered, ripe beauty to enjoy over the coming decade or more.

(aged for 27 months in 63% new French oak): Bright red-ruby. Shows a stronger herbal element than the Vottavo, as well as more pronounced oakiness to its aromas of cassis, spices and crushed rock. Suave and silky on the palate, with its strong spicy oak element supported by blackberry and pepper flavors and framed by sound acidity. Finishes with rather suave tannins and good length. Offers a glossier mouth feel than the Vottavo blend.
The outstanding 2012 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon gives up classic notes of cassis, plums, lead pencil shavings, tobacco leaf and hints of wood smoke to go with a medium to full-bodied, balanced, layered style on the palate. Incorporating 15% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, it has a balanced, harmonious vibe and will have 10-15 years of overall longevity.
