Seems surprisingly evolved on the nose. Quite full-bodied but with excellent acidity and a really distinctive bruised-apple flavour. A good mouthful of flavour and character at a price that, alas, must now be regarded as GV . (JR)

Disgorged with 0.8 grams per liter dosage on November 4, 2022, J.M Labruyère’s NV Prologue is based on the 2018 vintage, complemented by some 27% reserve wines from three vintages (2015, 2014 and 2013) and 7% vinified in oak barrels. Exhibiting complex aromas of lemon, almonds, spring flowers, jasmine, red berries and pear with hints of spices and blood orange, it’s medium-bodied, seamless and complete, crystalline and pure, with a refined mousse. This blend of 69% Pinot Noir and 31% Chardonnay is disarmingly easy to drink.
This has an attractive nose of baked apples, spiced pears, raspberries, custard and buttered toast. Itâs medium-bodied with bright acidity and round bubbles. Gently toasty, dry finish. 75% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay. Drink now.
A style that has a lot of appeal and attractive, fresh peaches and lemons with some gently bready complexity, too. The palate has a smooth, fleshy and attractively smooth core with a wealth of succulent, fleshy and vinous resolve. Drink now.
