A selection of the top barrels (all new), the 2021 Pinot Noir Fe Ciega Special Selection is ruby-hued (and mostly opaque) with a rocking bouquet of redcurrants, ripe mulberries, spicy wood, leather, and pressed flowers. Beautifully complex, medium-bodied, and balanced, with fine tannins, it's an incredibly classy, layered Pinot Noir from this team that readers will love. It will evolve for well over a decade.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Fe Ciega Special Bottling is a blend of two of the best barrels in the cellar. Crushed flowers, herbs, mint, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco all grace this layered, nuanced red. The blend works so well here. This earthy, savory Pinot Noir has so much to offer.
There are two Pinot Noir releases from this vineyard. The 2021 Pinot Noir Fe Ciega Discipulo (meaning blind faith) comes from a mix of clones 115 and 667 and vines planted in 1998. It has a pretty, perfumed bouquet of redcurrant and ripe strawberries to go with ample spring flowers, spice, and sagebrush-like nuances. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is more medium-bodied, has a fine spine of tannins and acidity, and outstanding length. It not a heavyweight yet brings terrific intensity as well as length. Give it 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Fe Ciega Discípulo shows a darker, more somber side of the vineyard. Black cherry, plum, incense, lavender, licorice and graphite add to an impression of virile intensity. This ample Pinot has an element of mystery that is so beguiling. Give it a year or two in bottle.
