Note di degustazione
The 2016 Pinot Noir Sous le Chêne is another super attractive wine in this range from Domaine de la Côte. The Sous le Chêne stands out for the superb purity of its flavors. It is perhaps a bit less complex and imposing than some of the other wines in the range, but in exchange it is already quite delicious and approachable. Scents of rose petal and dark red cherry add shades of nuance, while a closing burst of acid lends brightness.

The 2016 Sous le Chêne is the first vintage of this special bottling that originates from a portion of the vineyard right below a large oak tree that Parr and Moorman feel always displays very different characteristics to the rest of La Côte. It's certainly quite distinct this year, opening in the glass with a ravishingly ethereal bouquet of damson, strawberry, rose petal and peony, pure and ethereal. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, silky and expansive, with incredibly fine tannins and a long, lingering and saline finish. This is even silkier and more detailed than the regular La Côte bottling.
