Punteggio 92/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2017

The 2013 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict has fleshed out nicely since release. Today if offers sweeter red fruits nuances of strawberries and cherries, as well as attractive notes of mint and flowers. Medium-bodied, elegant, and silky on the palate, it has loads of charm in a lightly textured style ideal for drinking over the coming 5-7 years. These Sandhi releases, which were purchased locally in Colorado, stay true to the Sandhi profile of lively, fresh wines.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is a supple, rounded and medium-bodied Pinot Noir that stays fresh and lively, with classic notes of forest floor, underbrush, spice and black cherries. It’s a relatively forward wine from this terrific site, and it should drink nicely for 4-5 years.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict captures the personality of this site in its textured, enveloping personality. Layers of red and blue-fleshed stone fruits pretty pretty much bury the 100% whole clusters, while silky tannins add to an overall impression of suppleness. Underlying saline notes add energy and nuance in this impeccably, inviting Pinot Noir from Sandhi. "

Leaning toward the racy, lean end of the spectrum, the ruby-colored 2013 Pinot Noir Sanford and Benedict offers pretty notes of sappy flowers, spice, mineral water, cranberry and light strawberry to go with a medium-bodied, focused and firm feel on the palate. There's not much flesh here, but it has plenty of nicely integrated tannin and a good finish. It will probably flesh out with another year in bottle, but I wouldn't push the aging curve here too much either.
