Note di degustazione
The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a well-defined and open-knit nose with vivacious red cherry and wild strawberry fruit, expressing more terroir than one or two of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and crisp acidity. This is a carefree and joyous Bonnes-Mares that is zesty in style, yet there is impressive balance and depth. Don't underestimate it. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

(from vines near the Morey border, 50% of which were planted in 1902; 100% whole clusters). Here there is no reductive funk as there is a lovely purity to the super-fresh and quite floral nose of red currants, spice and newly turned earth. There is an almost painful intensity to the highly energetic and tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that already offer impressive depth and sneaky good length. Despite having reasonable size and weight, this is not an especially big Bonnes Mares though it is one allied with plenty of power and punch. (93-95)/2036+
The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru comes from two parcels and contains 100% whole-bunch fruit. That stem addition is noticeable on the nose but combines well with the broody black fruit, white pepper and wild mint aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, nice focus and a sappy finish that lacks a little persistence and grip. Just needs to show more sophistication.
