Punteggio 90-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2016

(these 50-year-old vines are located on the southern slope of Le Corton): Bright, saturated red. Lovely sappy lift to the aromas of cherry candy, redcurrant, licorice and wild herbs. Sweet and creamy in the mouth but with strong, integrated acidity giving the wine a juicy quality and keeping it tight today. Conveys an impression of small-berry concentration and finishes with firm structure."This is usually a softer wine," noted Méo.

The 2014 Corton la Vigne Au Saint Grand Cru comes from a tiny parcel bouquet in 2009 and constitutes only two barrels. It has a winsome redcurrant and red cherry bouquet that is very precise and charming, perhaps tinged with Vosne-like elegance. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, grippy and structured, quite compact and perhaps at the moment just missing that long tail on the finish. That may fill out with time, so give it 3-4 years after bottling.
