2004 Pax Viognier Aphrodite

Pax has added a white wine to the portfolio, and, not surprisingly, the 2004 Viognier Aphrodite, which was put through full malolactic, is one of the finest Viogniers I have tasted from California. Fashioned from fruit grown in white volcanic ash soils, it boasts tremendous, sexy notes of litchi, peaches, and apricots, accompanied by a wonderful minerality, and a full-bodied, super-concentrated style. Sadly, there are only 150 cases of this white beauty. Enjoy it over the next several years. I suspect the bottled 2003s may be largely sold out due to the insatiable demand of Pax’s mailing list.
