A third each of Pinot Noir, Menuier and Chardonnay. Very clean and bright in colour. Citrus on the nose then absolutely explosive on the palate. Fresh, lively and vibrant. Incredibly pure fruit balanced with a finesse and elegance throughout. Finely chiseled, laser-like precision on the long finish. June 2015

The NV Brut Nature Zero (2018 base) is a very pretty entry-level offering in this range. Dried pear, crushed flowers, spice and chamomile are nicely lifted. Clean mineral undertones lend notable freshness. This release is lifted and quite delicate. All the elements are very nicely balanced. Quintessential Tarlant all the way. Disgorged: October 6, 2025.

Based on the 2017 vintage and supplemented by 40% reserve wine, Tarlant's NV Brut Nature Zero was disgorged in October 2023 after five and a half years aging sur lattes. Sourced from riverine hillsides and reflecting the mosaic of four villages where the estate owns vines, it is a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, with the addition of approximately 4% heirloom varieties. Vinified in wood, it bursts from the glass with notes of pear and fresh bread crust mingling with grapefruit and green apple. Medium- to full-bodied, vinous yet incisive, it is giving and precise, with tangy acids and chalky back-end grip. With some 100,000 bottles produced annually, this is the cornerstone cuvée of the estate.

Based on the 2017 vintage, the NV Champagne Zero Brut Nature is 30% each Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay, with a small amount of Petit Meslier, Arbanne, and Pinot Blanc, and it was disgorged in July 2023. It’s a lovely release that feels perfectly suited to the vintage, with a supple, sunny, shiny character, a pillowy mousse, and notes of citrus oils, raw honey, lime pith, herbs, and hints of mint. Medium-bodied, it has a refined, chalky texture and refreshing acidity without austerity, and the savory freshness really sings. As it opens, a more floral perfume rises out of the glass. Drink now or over the next 7-8 years. Benoît Tarlant and his sister Mélanie are now the 12th generation to run this family estate.
