2020 Patrice Moreux Pouilly-Fumé Corty Artisan La Loge aux Moines

The 2020 Pouilly-Fumé La Loge aux Moines Monopole Corty Artisan is the wine of which Arnaud Moreux says, "It's not really a Pouilly-Fumé but simply a Loge aux Moines." (See my review of this 2020 wine from January 2022 to know more about this ancient Kimmeridgian terroir.) The wine offers a pure and refined yet also intense and complex, very mineral bouquet of crushed fossils, iodine and ripe, warm fruits. Refined and elegant yet also rich on the palate, this is a full-bodied, elegant and structured Pouilly with fine tannins and a long, intense finish. In the context of the gorgeously refreshing 2021s, this 2020 comes across as a rich, intense and structured Pouilly from a very sunny vintage. 14% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in March 2023.
