A homage to his father (who was a barber) and made from 80% To Kalon fruit (the rest is from Stice Lane and Oso Vineyard), the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Barber offers a voluptuous, decadent, sweetly fruited style that’s loaded with notions of crème de cassis, blackberry jam, crushed flowers and white chocolate. Rich, full-bodied, opulent and incredibly sexy, it has a touch of overt sweetness but is a beautiful wine. These seriously good wines are made by Kirk Venge.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve The Barber, which comes from multiple sources, is another outstanding effort from Oscar Renteria. It is a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon with loads of cedar wood, spice box, fruit cake, roasted coffee and blackcurrants. The wine is full-bodied, shows a touch of toasty oak, but is fleshy, dense and ideal for drinking over the next 15-20 years.
