Glowing dark purple. Masses of colour. Not much nose. Though there is obviously lots there. Archetypal young vintage port. Very thick and sweet and yet with good fine dry tannins on the finish. A complete baby but lovely savour. Classical. (JR)

An opaque purple color is followed by dense aromas of black fruits intertwined with earth, camphor, and licorice characteristics. This medium to full-bodied, lusciously-styled port possesses excellent purity, a layered mouthfeel, and a long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2019. Deep crimson with shocking pink rim. Stern, savoury, even slightly cheesy nose. Rather simple sweet red wine without any great depths. Notable acidity but a little light on tannins, though the finish is good and long. (JR)
