2018 Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet (Hervé Souhaut) Syrah

Inky ruby. Fresh dark berries, candied flowers and cracked pepper on the mineral-tinged nose. Gently sweet and fleshy on entry and then livelier with air, offering juicy cherry and blackberry flavors that reveal hints of smoked meat and allspice. Rich yet energetic in style, displaying solid thrust and supple, slow-building tannins that come in late on the persistent, spice-accented finish. Made with whole clusters.
