From a site planted in 2009 to Hyde selections, the 2022 Chardonnay Hapgood is zesty and focused on the nose, combing citrus and orchard fruits with accents of sea spray. Silky and saline on the palate, it finishes with a tremendously chiseled energy that recalls the linearity and precision of the nose. A highlight of the Brewer-Clifton lineup, this has room to unwind and still be a livewire.

The 2022 Chardonnay Hapgood is gorgeous. Coming from a site on the northern side of the appellation, it has a clean, classy nose of white flowers, green almond, stone fruits, and crushed stone, with some classic Sta. Rita Hills salinity and iodine-like nuances. Balanced, medium to full-bodied, and elegant, with a lively spine of acidity and a fabulous finish, it's up with my favorites from this estate in 2022. 190 cases.
The 2022 Chardonnay Hapgood is gorgeous. Bright, floral and effusive, the 2022 is impressive. It offers a captivating grip of nervous tension but also a good bit of body. Citrus confit, white flowers, tangerine oil and spice linger. This is impeccably done.
