Deep ruby. A complex bouquet evokes fresh raspberry, potpourri and spicecake qualities, along with subtle hints of garrigue and smoky minerals. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering sweet red and blue fruit flavors that deepen and become spicier on the back half. Impressively plays heft off finesse and finishes long and smooth; a dusty tannic note comes in late.

Strawberries, raspberries, flowers and mint all emerge from the medium-bodied 2014 Gigondas les Souteyrades, and this beautiful, forward 2014 has no hard edges, tons of charm, fine tannin and a good finish. It plays in the style of the vintage and is an early drinker, but it has loads to love.
Ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of candied red fruits, peppery spices and garrigue develop a smoky mineral overtone in the glass. Stains the palate with sweet raspberry, cherry and lavender flavors that stretch out with air. Sappy and silky in texture, finishing on a suave floral note, with impressive clarity and smooth tannins coming in late.
Tasted blind. Cask sample. Some life and freshness even if not great complexity. Hint of green. (JR)
