Picked at significantly lower must weight than the corresponding A.P. #1 (not to mention this year’s wines from Kinheim’s Rosenberg), this delivers a luscious, almost sappy abundance of fresh strawberry, kiwi and lime laced with crushed stone and mouthwatering mineral salts. Subtly creamy, the palate is ultra-buoyant at well under 8 percent alcohol, yet correspondingly high residual sugar is tempered by 10.2 grams acidity and by notably high dry extract. Tingling suggestions of tangerine zest and crunchy berry seeds enhance the sense of invigoration on a vibrantly sustained finish.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2020-2035, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Apr 2017

The 2015 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese #7 offers intense and well-concentrated ripe fruit with some white champignon flavors on the nose. Lush yet stunningly pure, piquant and steely on the palate, this Würzgarten shows intense fruit, nice grip and an electrifying 9.8 grams of total acidity! Still very young but with very good aging potential. This was picked on October 10th from ungrafted vines. It was bottled in March 2016 with 7.27% of alcohol and 63 grams of residual sugar.
