The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is flat-out stunning. What a wine. Deep and resonant to the core, the 2021 impresses from start to finish. This is the first vintage of the Oakville wine that is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and that is an inspired choice. All the elements are so well put together. This large-scaled, vibrant 2021 hits all the right notes. It is easily one of the best wines I have ever tasted at Futo.

The 2021 Futo is a dense, packed wine. Dark red fruit, mocha, spice, menthol, licorice and espresso all soar out of the glass. Once again, the Oakville is 100% Cabernet, a decision I can't say surprises me given how well the 100% Cabernet 5500 has turned out to be and my impression is that Cabernet Franc does not age as well here as Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2021 is a gorgeous Oakville Cabernet in the making.
