2016 Edge Hill Mixed Blacks Field Blend St. Helena

A barrel sample blend of 66% Zinfandel, 19% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 6% Carignan and 3% Grenache, the 2016 Mixed Blacks offers a very deep garnet-purple color and gregarious nose of baked plums, blueberry compote and raspberry tart with hints of anise, black pepper and violets plus a waft of garrigue. Full-bodied, soft, rich and seductive, the palate is boldly flavored, with a plush texture and plenty of freshness, finishing on a compelling peppery note. 252 cases will be made.
