Note di degustazione
(16.1% alcohol) Opaque ruby. Deep, inky cherry and blueberry on the nose. Impressively concentrated but also shockingly elegant, displaying sweet dark berry preserve flavors and sexy Asian spices. Soft tannins add structure to an impressively long, sweet finish. How this wine manages to be so rich and obviously ripe while maintaining balance and finesse is beyond me.

A brilliant effort, the dense ruby/purple-hued 2006 Syrah Nuts and Bolts possesses roasted meat, Provencal herb, blackberry, cherry, licorice, and tar-like characteristics. A strong, powerful attack, mid-palate, and finish add to this wine’s appeal. Enjoy it over the next 6-7 years. A serious Central Coast producer, the Herman Story Winery builds up its strength and credibility with each new vintage. Kudos to winemaker Russell From. The barrel samples of 2007s I tasted display the freshness, elegance, superb purity, and concentration this vintage has produced. Tel. (805) 714-9966
A 100% syrah bottling, the 2006 Herman Story Syrah Nuts and Bolts displays massive aromatics of cassis, dark fruits, cracklings, raw meat and vanilla aromas. The palate is full bodied and massively concentration and rich. Despite its size, it has nice precision, fabulous texture and a long, heady finish.
