Medium to deep garnet in color with a touch of purple, the 2007 Merlot reveals quite an earthy nose of damp soil, fungi, mossy bark and fallen leaves over a core of sautéed herbs, stewed plums and dried mulberries. The full-bodied palate offers mouth-filling black fruit preserves laced with herbal accents and with a soft texture, finishing with great freshness.

Good full ruby-red. Superripe aromas of plum, tar, bittersweet chocolate, truffle, smoke and tomato. Densely packed and rather full-blown but with surprising acid spine; deep black fruit flavors are complicated by a wild, gamey quality and a tarry note. Winemaker Green describes the 2007s as tight wines, "like the 2005s."
(includes 11% cabernet sauvignon) Bright, deep ruby. Brooding, dark aromas of blueberry, licorice pastille and bitter chocolate. Dense, smooth and chocolatey, combining very good breadth and mineral lift. Youthfully restrained, even a bit tight, today, but possesses very good fruit and finishes with broad, ripe tannins and excellent length.
