Note di degustazione
Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard gives up wonderfully layered perfume of raspberry and strawberry jam, tangerine peel, dried leaves, amaro and loads of rose petal aromas with a super spicy undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate is über silky and intense with layers of fruit, spice, amaro and earth. It has a finely grained frame and addicting mouthwatering acidity, finishing very long and layered. 360 cases produced.

Brilliant red. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes red fruit liqueur, incense and potpourri, along with suave vanilla and Asian spice nuances and a hint of cola. Concentrated yet lithe in style, offering palate-staining Chambord, cherry cola, spicecake and floral pastille flavors sharpened by a jolt of smoky minerality. Finishes sweet, smooth and impressively long, with building florality and discreet, well-knit tannins.
In the same league, the 2017 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard (70% new French oak) has the most salinity as well as minerality in the lineup. Dusty earth, blackberries, violets, and rose garden-like characteristics all soar from the glass. It’s ethereal and elegant on the palate, yet has the classic Pisoni power and tension front and center. It will be better with a year of bottle age and keep for a decade. It’s another thrilling wine from winemaker Scott Shapley and the team at Roar.
