The 2023 Zinfandel Katushas’ Vineyard comes from own-rooted vines planted in 1915 in sandy loam soils. Matured in used puncheons and foudres, it has slowly unfolding scents of red cherry, briar fruit, blood orange, licorice and rooibos tea. The full-bodied palate pairs concentrated, spicy flavors with grainy tannins and vibrant acidity, and it has a long, perfumed finish.

Coming from Lodi, on own-rooted vines planted in 1915, the 2023 Zinfandel Katushas’ Vineyard pours a bright ruby/magenta color and is lifted with notes of mixed berries, wildflowers, and blue floral perfume. The palate is focused with ripe, tension-driven acidity, which drives through the wine and keeps things cinched, with finely coiled tannins. It has plummy fresh fruit and a clean finish. Drink 2025-2035.
The 2023 Zinfandel Katusha's Vineyard is one of the most gorgeous wines I have ever tasted from this site. Floral, lifted and totally sensual, the 2023 is so pure, so nuanced. Varietal character is amped up to the maximum. Soft, sensual contours wrap it all together in style. The 2022 is not a big wine, but it is exquisitely vivid and beautiful.
