Note di degustazione
Inky ruby. Wild, highly perfumed aromas of dark fruit preserves, incense and violet, complicated by hints of licorice, menthol and espresso. Juicy, palate-staining cassis and blueberry flavors show excellent clarity, with a bright peppery note adding bite. Finishes on an intense floral note, with lingering mineral and herbal nuances. This really screams syrah.

The 2010 Syrah Thompson Vineyard is a more immediate, overtly juicy wine than the Watch Hill mostly built on expressive fruit. Sweet candied plums, violets, oak and spices meld together in this supple, approachable Syrah. The Thompson was fermented with 10% whole clusters, and spent 18 months in French oak barrels (30% new) prior to being bottled.

More ripe and upfront, yet still with an overall, exotic, cool-climate feel, the 2010 Andrew Murray Syrah Thompson Vineyard is 100% Syrah that was aged for 18 months in 30% new French oak. Loaded with exuberant black and red raspberry, pepper, potpourri, flowers, and spice-box-like aromas and flavors, it is medium to full-bodied, supple, and beautifully polished on the palate. It too needed the better part of the evening to show at its best, and should have over a decade of longevity.
