Pouring a bright straw/silver color, the 2022 Riesling Sonoma Coast Estate offers a good deal of depth on the nose in this vintage and is ripe with a tropical perfume on opening, with notes of petrol and smoky stones leading the charge, balanced with apricot preserve, lime cordial, and chive. The palate is dry and zesty upfront with white pepper spice, and it has lean to medium-bodied richness, even acidity, and a clean, floating finish. It’s approachable and appealing now and should show its best over the next 6-7 years.
