Note di degustazione
Youthfully restrained, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon lifts from the glass with nuances of shaved cedar and dusty rose. Round and juicy in feel, it casts medium-weight textures across the palate as tart blackberries and inner violet tones resonate throughout. This leaves a bitter twang, along with dark red and black fruits and hints of cacao. It tapers off edgy and youthfully tannic yet still surprisingly fresh. This untamed beast will require significant cellaring.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) sports a vibrant purple color to go with a rich, full-bodied, powerful, and well-oaked Cabernet that has beautiful cassis and darker currant fruit, notes of tobacco, espresso, graphite, and crushed stone, beautiful overall balance, building tannins, and a great finish. The purity here is stunning, it has impeccable balance, and it’s just a brilliant Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that will keep for 25+ years. Bravo.
A stellar wine already, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain comes from three different vineyards on Red Mountain and boasts an oak-driven, ripe and juicy nose that offers an incredible display of depth for a wine that will be released in two years' time. The nose displays vibrant and velvety dark berry tones with the smell of freshly minted dollar bills from the 70% new French oak. Full-bodied and generously weighted, the palate unravels to display incredible complexity that seems to go on for days, offering tight tannins at its current state—which should be expected—before layers peel away to expose dark red and black fruit tones of crème de cassis, redcurrant and fresh violets. The wine seems to cruise on with an impressive elongated finish, leaving persistent flavors of cinnamon-spiced plum compote and black raspberry essences on the aftertaste. Almost 11,000 bottles were filled after the juice was fermented in concrete and French oak vats and left to age in barrel for 22 months. It will be further aged in bottle for 38 months. Bravo! Set a calendar reminder for the release of this stunningly gorgeous bottle in 2023!
