Note di degustazione
Vivid magenta. Dark berries, peppery spices, peony and a hint of olive on the perfumed nose. Juicy, penetrating and gently sweet, offering lively blackberry and cherry compote flavors and a floral pastille nuance that builds with air. Supple tannins give shape to the persistent, mineral-laced finish, which strongly repeats the floral note.

Completely destemmed and brought up in 20% new barrels, the 2016 Saint Joseph is impressive. Possessing a deep, smoky, meaty, tannic profile, with lots of blackberry and blueberry fruit, spice and pepper aromas and flavors, it has solid mid-palate depth, ripe, yet present tannin and a great finish. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring, but should have 10-15 years of overall longevity.
