Note di degustazione
The 2021 Pinot Noir Victor Francis Peake Ranch Vineyard was matured for 17 months in 66% new French oak. It has savory tones of tobacco leaves, nori and rooibos tea over a core of raspberries and blackberries, plus nuances of botanicals that emerge as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate pairs power and elegance. Its concentrated yet detailed floral berry flavors are supported by powdery tannins and fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long, fragrant finish. 200 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Peake Ranch Vineyard Victor Francis is a powerful wine. Strong savory and mineral notes dominate, while fruit is more pushed into the background. Hints of tobacco, cedar and dried leather start to emerge with some coaxing, but this remains an especially reticent wine. It will be interesting to see how this ages.
Wild strawberries, rose petals, forest floor, and orange blossom are just some of the nuances in the 2021 Pinot Noir Victor Francis Peake Ranch Vineyard, a beautifully pure, medium to full-bodied, spicy, floral Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir. It has the same level of purity and elegance found in the other efforts here and is a joy to drink. Completely destemmed and aged 17 months in two-thirds new French oak, it will have a solid 7-8 years of longevity, but don't be afraid to open bottles.
