High level of ripeness with jammy black fruit character. Rich, viscous texture, sinewy, soft even-set tannins, resolved but abundant and expansive on the palate. A lovely refreshing backbone of acidity balances the ripe fruit profile. This is really elegant, medium bodied Pessac. Very pure fruit character – fresh blackcurrant and blackberry – no raisining of fruit but moderate in concentration with plenty of finesse. Gentle wine, with nice sustain on the finish. Very elegant and balanced. Medium bodied Pessac.

Tasted from a half-bottle. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. More violet and tobacco character than the 2020. Pencil shavings, cassis and black cherry. Nice freshness and balance. (JRL)

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc. Harvested 23 September to 13 October. A mirror image of 2016 without quite the same depth. Crimson hue. Blueberry and dark-fruit notes. Pure, fresh and precise, even a touch ethereal. Tannins finely honed. Elegant and refined with no extremes. A lovely wine. (JL)
