Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2020-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2021

The 2017 On The White Keys Artists Reserve shows an extra kick of ripeness and exoticism because of the heat that year. Apricot, butter, ginger, chamomile and light honeyed notes are rich and expansive in the glass. The 2017 is an extrovert, there is no question about that, and yet all the elements are so impeccably balanced.

Incorporating a touch more Sémillon, the 2017 On The White Keys Reserve is a different beast, with a more concentrated, powerful, serious style. Aged 18 months in second-fill barrels, it has awesome notes of lemon curd, white flowers, honeyed cream, figs, and brioche. It’s beautifully done, balanced, medium to full-bodied, and a blockbuster white blend to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years.

Lemon confit, apricot jam, mint, chamomile and light honeyed notes all run through the 2017 Artists Reserve On The White Keys - Arietta's top white. The 2017 is beautifully resonant and plush. It preserves plenty of its signature character with a bit more acidity than in the past, which is certainly a positive.

Arietta's 2017 On the White Keys is ample and creamy in the glass, yet also has quite a bit of supporting structure and overall freshness as well. Lemon confit, white flowers, apricot and chamomile add nuance to a host of Sauvignon Blanc-driven varietal flavors. The interplay of richness and vibrancy is simply compelling. In 2017, the blend is 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Hyde from Farina, Sonoma Mountain and Hyde, all done in a mix of stainless steel and neutral oak.
