Note di degustazione
Redcurrant, cranberry, strawberry – very primary nose, but the palate is much more layered with soy, spice and a little earth. No tannin to speak of. Super light body. Shimmering. (RH)

Crushed raspberry, mint, sage and rose petal waft from the glass in Domaine de la Côte's 2013 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills. The 2013 is light, feminine and gracious, with a distinctly floral, savory personality. I would like to see a little more mid-palate depth, but otherwise, the 2012 is a lovely effort. The 2013 was done with 50% whole clusters.
The new wood was increased to between 20% and 30% in 2013 for the single vineyards, yet the 2013 Pinot Noir Estate still sees only marginal new oak, while its aged in around 10% new. It offers a surprisingly ripe, rounded and soft style to go with lots of underbrush, spice, salted olives and both strawberry and raspberry fruit characteristics. Attractive, upfront and ready to go, drink it over the coming 2-4 years.
